Discover the Scientific Facts about Low Carbohydrate Diets

Even though millions of low carb diet books have been sold, and many people have enjoyed success in weight loss, and improvement in blood sugar control and cholesterol readings, the mainstream medical community still rejects them for lacking a valid scientific basis.

As a physician and interested scientist, I spent the first part of the year 2000 researching the science of human nutrition and metabolism, and have found the answers that are available with current scientific knowledge. I was very surprised by my findings, especially because I had never encountered most of this information during my medical training. I am convinced this is why most doctors disagree with low carbohydrate diet plans and tell their patients to avoid them, even after seeing first-hand the success many have had with weight loss and improvement in laboratory values.

I have discovered that a low carbohydrate diet is the most natural way of eating for the human body. Current scientific knowledge allows us to predict the consequences of various dietary percentages of protein, carbohydrate and fat, and indicates that there is an ideal formula.

You may already be on a low carb diet that is working well for you, and can benefit from learning the scientific basis for why this diet works so you can discuss it with your doctor. Or you may still be considering the change to low carb dieting, and have concerns about the negative criticisms you keep hearing about the low carb diet.

I invite you to explore this site and discover the scientific facts that support a low carbohydrate diet.
